The Naturaliste Renewable Energy Group is having an Open Forum Session to work towards the South West becoming carbon neutral. It will be an event where everyone can have their say and offer up ideas and get involved.
Here is the link to the event on our facebook page – Please share with your friends who may be interested in attending: https://www.facebook.com/events/1068476806535101/
The afternoon will be run by Casper Adson and will basically be a brainstorming session. We will break up into different groups and lay out a pathway and the steps needed to reach our goals. So if you are interested in community owner solar projects, energy efficiency, electric cars, pyrolysis, tree planting, alternative energy sources, lifestyle changes anything that can help reduce our impact on the environment, this will be for you. You will be able to contribute to any group and all ideas will be collected and made available to the public.
It will be informal and fun and there will be food and drinks (the bar will be open) available to help us relax and get into the right headspace. The location was chosen because of the views over the bay. Nothing like a beautiful backdrop to keep us focussed on protecting othe environment for our kids.
NREG has had great success in partnership with Save Energy with the installation of 25 residential solar pv systems. Sean Scanlon will be announcing the winner of the free solar system to a non profit group on the day also. Kindly donated by Save Energy.
So join in and lets make it successful. We can’t sit back and expect others to do the work for us. When we have the community involved we can achieve anything. We can seat 80 people so please let us know if you can make it. We can get more chairs if needed. I will let you know of any updates as they come to hand.
Hope to see you there
